Sleepy Face

A yellow face with eyes closed and mouth letting out three, cartoon-styled&nbsp;<a href="/zzz/">Zzz</a>&rsquo;s overhead to indicate it&#39;s sound asleep. The Zzz&rsquo;s appear&nbsp;blue or purple across most platforms. May also represent boredom (slang, snooze).

Generally used instead of <a href="/sleepy-face/">😪 Sleepy Face</a> to convey sleep&nbsp;or sleepiness.

Sleeping Face

A series of three Zs making a Zzz. Represents sleeping, snoring, dreaming, or any sleep-related state. Can also be used in some contexts to represent something that is&nbsp;boring.

Sleeping Symbol

A bed with a gender-unspecified person sleeping in it, as at a <a href="/house/">house</a>, <a href="/hotel/">hotel</a>,&nbsp;hostel, or other sleeping accommodation. Used especially for various content concerning <a href="/sleeping-face/">sleeping</a> as well as beds, furniture, housing, relaxing, and other bedroom activities.

Shown with a headboard at the left&nbsp;and footboard with a person under the covers, head on the pillow. Most platforms suggest a wooden frame and feature blue or red sheets.

The appearance of the person varies. Apple and Facebook&#39;s designs show only the hair of the sleeper, Apple&#39;s black and Facebook&#39;s brown and tousled. Other major vendors show the head of the sleeper in default yellow with short, brown or blonde&nbsp;hair. Skin tone support is not recommended for this emoji, though it is supported&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://emojipedia.org/sleeping-accommodation-type-4/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1550338562835000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHzfwaURXq7FmOe4Z-btvsniTcb0Q" href="/person-in-bed-medium-skin-tone/" target="_blank">on some platforms</a>.

Sleeping Accommodation

A hotel building,&nbsp;displayed on most platforms as a building with many windows and a letter H on the front.

Can be easily confused with the <a href="/love-hotel/" title="🏩 Love Hotel">Love Hotel</a>, or <a href="/hospital/" title="🏥 Hospital">Hospital</a> emoji.&nbsp;Microsoft <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/hotel/">previously</a>&nbsp;depicted this emoji as a&nbsp;bed.

Hotel

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_hotel">love hotel</a> is a hotel that can be hired <a href="/smirking-face/" title="😏 Smirking Face">by the hour</a> instead of as <a href="/person-in-bed/" title="🛌 Sleeping Accommodation">accommodation</a> for the evening.

Sometimes mistaken for a get well soon emoji&nbsp;due to the similarity in appearance to the <a href="/hospital/" title="🏥 Hospital">hospital</a>. The Microsoft version of this&nbsp;emoji previously&nbsp;displaying <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/love-hotel/">a bed with a heart above it</a>.

Love Hotel

A school building with multiple storeys, and a clock on the front. A place that children or teenagers attend for their education.

This emoji tends to spike in use in September when many Northern Hemisphere countries&#39; schools reopen after their&nbsp;<a href="/summer">summer</a> holidays.
