Emoji Meaning

The brown bread of a bagel, shown sliced in two halves. Some platforms depict seeds, as sesame or poppy, and a schmear of cream cheese, with the bagel assembled as a sandwich. May resemble the Doughnut at small sizes.

After complaints, Apple updated the bagel emoji design during the iOS 12.1 beta cycle.

Bagel was approved as part of Unicode 11.0 in 2018 and added to Emoji 11.0 in 2018.
