A person bowing deeply which is known as&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogeza" target="_blank" title="Dogeza on Wikipedia">dogeza</a> in Japan. Used to express a sincere apology,&nbsp;or to request a large favour.

Many variations of this&nbsp;emoji are misinterpreted as a person doing push-ups, lying down to have&nbsp;a massage, or doing a cute &quot;head resting on hands&quot; gesture.

Person Bowing Deeply

A hand held up showing its palm. May be used to mean stop, or as a high-five.

Raised Hand

Two hands placed firmly together, meaning please&nbsp;or&nbsp;thank you&nbsp;in Japanese culture.&nbsp;A common alternative use&nbsp;for this emoji is for prayer, using the same gesture as&nbsp;praying hands. It can also represent&nbsp;a respectful greeting or show of adoration many in Southeast Asian religions and cultures, such as the Hindu namaste or Buddhist a&ntilde;jali mudra.

Eyes

A single human eye, looking forward. This eye is in a different shape and style to the pair of <a href="/eyes/" title=" 👀 Eyes">eyes</a>, which are more rounded, and looking to one side.

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazar_(amulet)#Amulet">nazar</a>, an eye-shaped amulet believed to protect against the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye">evil eye</a>, especially in Turkish culture. Depicted as a rich blue, circular bead with a black dot in the center ringed with white and light blue, resembling an <a href="/eye/">eye</a>.

Commonly used to represent eyes, various senses of looking, various senses of&nbsp;charms, envy and jealousy, and&nbsp;<a href="/flag-turkey/">Turkey</a> and Turkish culture. Also used for its blue color more generally.

WhatsApp and Facebook&#39;s designs include a small hole, as for threading the amulet on a string or chain.

Nazar Amulet

Star of David

A church building, generally associated with Christian denominations. In addition quiet&nbsp;<a href="/folded-hands/" title="🙏 Person With Folded Hands">prayer</a>, churches hold regular&nbsp;<a href="/raising-hands/" title="🙌 Person Raising Both Hands In Celebration">worship</a> services, <a href="/wedding/" title="💒 Wedding">weddings</a>, <a href="/baby/" title="👶 Baby">baptisms</a> and funerals.

Church

A latin cross, otherwise known as a Christian cross. This cross symbol is often used as a symbol of Christianity. Similar in appearance&nbsp;to the <a href="/orthodox-cross/">Orthodox cross</a>.
