Unicode 14.0 is the version of the Unicode Standard&nbsp;released on&nbsp;September 14, 2021.&nbsp;37 new emoji&nbsp;code points were added in this release,&nbsp;with all 112 new emojis (including sequences for skin tones)&nbsp;listed under <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>.

New emojis&nbsp;added in this release are update expected to come to major platforms in either late 2021 or early&nbsp;2022.

This release of this Unicode Standard was&nbsp;<a href="http://blog.unicode.org/2020/04/unicode-140-delayed-for-6-months.html">delayed from March 2021</a> due to COVID-19.&nbsp;

<h2>New Reactions for COVID-19&nbsp;</h2>

In March 2020, Facebook <a href="https://twitter.com/alexvoica/status/1251090864878821377">added</a> a&nbsp;Care&nbsp;emoji reaction as an additional option in response to <a href="/coronavirus/">COVID-19</a>. This is displayed similarly to&nbsp;a <a href="/hugging-face/">hugging face</a> holding a <a href="/red-heart/">red love heart</a>.

Beginning rollout on 2022-04-20,&nbsp;this update to Facebook emoji set included support for all&nbsp;emojis from <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>.

This update also introduced support for various&nbsp;<a href="/people-holding-hands/">🧑&zwj;🤝&zwj;🧑 People Holding Hands</a> emojis from 2019&#39;s <a href="/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a> recommendations.

Facebook began testing this emoji update&nbsp;in September 2016. This updat&nbsp;showed&nbsp;for all website users as of February 2017.

This release added&nbsp;compatibility with emojis from <a href="/unicode-7.0/">Unicode 7.0</a>, <a href="/unicode-8.0/">Unicode 8.0</a> and <a href="/unicode-9.0/">Unicode 9.0</a>.

None of the emojis in Facebook 2.0 are shared&nbsp;with the original set from 2014. Additionally, this release&nbsp;is&nbsp;separate from Facebook <a href="/messenger/">Messenger emojis</a>.
