For example, this emoji is frequently used on Twitter/X in reference to the Korean boy band&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTS">Bangtan Sonyeondan</a>, more commonly known as BTS.

The colorful arc of a rainbow, as may appear after rain. Generally depicted as the left half of a full rainbow, showing six bands of color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

Umbrella with Rain Drops

A large, open umbrella, as provides shade at a beach or patio. Generally depicted as a striped umbrella inserted into a patch of sand and tilted to the right.

Commonly used for various content concerning the beach, summer vacations (holidays), sunny weather, and relaxing outdoors.

The color of the stripes varies&nbsp;across platforms; Apple (no sand) and Samsung&rsquo;s are red and yellow, while Google,&nbsp;Twitter and Facebook&rsquo;s red and white, and WhatsApp&rsquo;s <a href="/rainbow/">rainbow</a>-colored.&nbsp;Google&rsquo;s was <a href="/google/android-8.0/umbrella-on-ground/">previously</a> blue and white.

Sometimes used as an insult to call a person&nbsp;weak and&nbsp;oversensitive.

During 2024 this emoji began to be <a href="https://www.lemonde.fr/en/pixels/article/2024/10/23/a-purple-emoji-instead-of-the-word-rape-a-paradox-and-symbol-of-speaking-out-on-social-media_6730250_13.html">used by French users of social media platforms</a> to reference a term for a serious form of assault. This was due to its&nbsp;phonetic similarity to the color purple within the French language.
