This update to Google&#39;s Noto Color Emoji set introduced support for 2023&#39;s Emoji 15.1 recommendations.

Additionally, the family emojis have been changed to have a silhouette icon design, matching the new non-gender-specifying family emojis from&nbsp;Emoji 15.1.

First made available via Github on 2023-11-17, this update is expected to be&nbsp;released progressively across different Google platforms such as Chrome OS, Gmail, YouTube, and various Android devices.

First released as a&nbsp;color vector&nbsp;font file on 2022-09-14, this update to Google&#39;s Noto Color Emoji set introduced support for <a href="/da/emoji-15.0/">Emoji 15.0</a> emoji such as <a href="/da/hovedrysten/">Shaking Face</a> and&nbsp;<a href="/da/pink-hjerte/">Pink Heart</a>.

Released to eligible Pixel devices on&nbsp;2021-10-04, Android 12.0 updated the designs of almost one thousand previously available emojis.&nbsp;

Beginning its rollout on 2022-09-20, Window 11&#39;s 22H2 update introduced support for <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> emojis such as <a href="/melting-face/">🫠 Melting Face</a>, <a href="/saluting-face/">🫡 Saluting Face</a>, and <a href="/heart-hands/">🫶 Heart Hands</a>.

This update also revised a number of previous-released emoji designs.&nbsp;Notably, the colored heart emojis such as&nbsp;<a href="https://emojipedia.org/red-heart/">❤️ Red Heart</a> were given additional details.

Additionally, each of the hand gesutre and people emojis without a skin tone modifier were given a revised base skin tone color.

Windows 11 22H2

Beginning its rollout on 2021-11-22, Window 11&#39;s November 2021 update redesigned all of Microsoft&#39;s emojis, officially launching the <a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/11/22/express-yourself-with-new-emoji-now-available-in-windows-11/">2D incarnation</a> of the platform&#39;s Fluent&nbsp;emoji set. Microsoft Windows 11&nbsp;launched&nbsp;on 2021-10-05, and was the first version of Windows update to support&nbsp;<a href="/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>. Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version&nbsp;1607), aka &quot;Emojiversary Update&quot;&nbsp;was <a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2016/06/29/windows-10-anniversary-update-available-august-2/">released</a> on August 2, 2016 and&nbsp;included&nbsp;a complete redesign of every emoji in the Segoe UI Emoji font.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update

The first release of Windows 10, version 1507,&nbsp;added support for emoji <a href="/emoji-modifier-sequence/">modifiers</a>, as well as other changes to <a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/windows-10-emoji-changelog/">increase cross-platform consistency</a>. It was otherwise similar to <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.1/">Windows 8.1</a>.

Intended to depict such feelings as&nbsp;embarrassment, but meaning very widely varies. Other senses include flattery, surprise, disbelief, admiration, affection, and excitement.

Google&#39;s design <a href="/google/android-4.4/flushed-face/">previously featured</a> a more bashful expression and <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.0/flushed-face/">Samsung</a>, a more ashamed one. An <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.1/flushed-face/">early Microsoft design</a> featured an awkward smile.

Flushed Face

Has the same grin and eyes as&nbsp;<a href="/grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes/">😄 Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes</a>&nbsp;but with a single, blue bead of sweat, usually over its left eye. Intended to depict nerves or discomfort but commonly used to express a close call, as if saying Whew! and wiping sweat from the forehead.&nbsp;

Smiling Face with Open Mouth and Cold Sweat

A single, light blue droplet, as of water, sweat, or tears.

May be used for various types of liquid. May also be used to expression sadness, as in <a href="/crying-face/">😢 Crying Face</a>,&nbsp;or for various liquid-based slang expressions (e.g., drip, &ldquo;exceptional style, swagger&quot;).

Most platforms feature expressions that are variations on <a href="/anxious-face-with-sweat/">😰 Anxious Face With Sweat</a> or <a href="/sad-but-relieved-face/">😥 Sad but Relieved Face</a>. &nbsp;

Overheated Face

A yellow face with eyes closed and mouth letting out three, cartoon-styled&nbsp;<a href="/zzz/">Zzz</a>&rsquo;s overhead to indicate it&#39;s sound asleep. The Zzz&rsquo;s appear&nbsp;blue or purple across most platforms. May also represent boredom (slang, snooze).

Generally used instead of <a href="/sleepy-face/">😪 Sleepy Face</a> to convey sleep&nbsp;or sleepiness.

Sleeping Face

A yellow face with scrunched, X-shaped eyes sneezing or blowing its nose into a white tissue, as if from a cold or allergies. Often depicted with a crumpled-looking mouth.
