Used across Microsoft PCs. Windows 11 uses the Fluent set. Windows 10&rsquo;s final update was in May 2019.

Unicode 1.1 were pre-dated emoji inclusion in Unicode by 17 years, and included many characters primarily sourced from the Zapf Dingbats font.

The following characters were added to Unicode in 1993 and many were given emoji presentation status in the years 2010-2015.

Emojis from Microsoft are&nbsp;supported on PCs and tablets&nbsp;running Windows 11, Windows 10, as well as Xbox. There were also available on Windows phones prior to them being&nbsp;discontinued. These are provided by the Segoe UI Emoji font, although some applications continue to show black and white emojis from an earlier release.

As of the <a href="/microsoft/windows-11-november-2021-update/">Windows 11&nbsp;November 2021 </a>update, the platform includes the <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/new-fluent-emoji-designs-from-microsoft/">new Fluent emoji design set</a>&nbsp;that was first previewed ahead of 2021&#39;s <a href="/world-emoji-day/">World Emoji Day</a>. Windows 10&#39;s last emoji update was the&nbsp;<a href="/microsoft/windows-10-may-2019-update/">May 2019 Update</a>, which supported emoji from up to early 2019&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="/emoji-12.0/">Emoji 12.0</a>.

Microsoft Emoji List — Emojis for Windows 11, Windows 10 and Xbox

Microsoft Windows 11&nbsp;launched&nbsp;on 2021-10-05, and was the first version of Windows update to support&nbsp;<a href="/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>. Emojis in this release are displayed in the thick outlined&nbsp;Segoe Color Emoji&nbsp;style from Windows 10, instead of the <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/new-fluent-emoji-designs-from-microsoft/">Fluent designs</a> previewed ahead of <a href="https://worldemojiday.com/">World Emoji Day 2021</a>.

Support for <a href="/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>&nbsp;and <a href="/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>&nbsp;was initially made available via Windows 10 Insiders Builds <a href="https://twitter.com/Emojipedia/status/1337183890063187971">in December 2020</a>.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update (often referred to as&nbsp;Fall 2018 Update&nbsp;prior to release) was released on October 2, 2018 and is the first Windows release to support <a href="/emoji-11.0/">Emoji 11.0</a>.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update

Windows 10 April 2018 Update (commonly referred to as&nbsp;Spring Creators Update&nbsp;prior to release) was released on April 30, 2018 and includes a number of <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-april-2018-update/changed/">changes</a> to emoji appearance mainly to bring emoji design in line with other platforms. Windows 10 April 2018 Update

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the major release that followed <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-creators-update/">Windows 10 Creators Update</a>. Released on October 17, 2017 this update added support for <a href="/emoji-5.0/">Emoji 5.0</a> and changed the appearance of a number of existing emojis.

Windows 10 Creators Update was the first major&nbsp;emoji update from Microsoft in 2017.

Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version&nbsp;1607), aka &quot;Emojiversary Update&quot;&nbsp;was <a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2016/06/29/windows-10-anniversary-update-available-august-2/">released</a> on August 2, 2016 and&nbsp;included&nbsp;a complete redesign of every emoji in the Segoe UI Emoji font.

This release&nbsp;also added support for <a href="/unicode-9.0/">Unicode 9</a> emojis, as well as&nbsp;52,000 family combinations including single parent families and interracial families. <a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/diverse-emoji-families-come-to-windows/">More about this update</a>.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update

The first release of Windows 10, version 1507,&nbsp;added support for emoji <a href="/emoji-modifier-sequence/">modifiers</a>, as well as other changes to <a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/windows-10-emoji-changelog/">increase cross-platform consistency</a>. It was otherwise similar to <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.1/">Windows 8.1</a>.

This release was superceded by <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-anniversary-update/">Windows 10 Anniversary Update</a> on August 2, 2016.

Windows 10

Windows 8 came with support for black and white emoji images out of the box, as part of the new Segoe UI Emoji font. This font was also&nbsp;<a href="http://www.istartedsomething.com/20120818/microsoft-backports-windows-8-emoji-for-segoe-ui-symbol-to-windows-7/">backported</a> for Windows 7 users, alongside the release of Windows 8.

Windows 8.0

Windows 8.1 introduced color emojis to Windows for the first time. Prior versions of Windows used black and white emoji characters. The Windows 8.1 emoji set is used on Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1.
