Beginning its global rollout on 2023-10-31, the Windows11 23H2 update introduced support for Emoji 15.0&nbsp;to the flat versions of the&nbsp;Fluent emoji design set used by the OS since its November 2021 update.

This update also redesigned a selection of emojis within the flat Fluent set. These redesigns include many smiley emojis&nbsp;having the size and positioning of their dotted black pupils subtly modified, the&nbsp;🙏 Folded Hands being shown&nbsp;isometrically, the 👽 Alien changed from grey to green once again, and the previously atypical width of the vendor&#39;s four-person family emoji designs&nbsp;being revised.

Additionally, a bug appears to have swapped the designs of the various&nbsp;🧏&zwj;♂️ Deaf Man and&nbsp;🧏&zwj;♀️ Deaf Woman emojis.

Windows 11 23H2

Beginning its rollout on 2022-09-20, Window 11&#39;s 22H2 update introduced support for <a href="/it/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> emojis such as <a href="/it/viso-che-si-scioglie/">🫠 Melting Face</a>, <a href="/it/viso-che-saluta/">🫡 Saluting Face</a>, and <a href="/it/mani-che-formano-un-cuore/">🫶 Heart Hands</a>.

This update also revised a number of previous-released emoji designs.&nbsp;Notably, the colored heart emojis such as&nbsp;<a href="http://emojipedia.org/it/red-heart/">❤️ Red Heart</a> were given additional details.

Additionally, each of the hand gesutre and people emojis without a skin tone modifier were given a revised base skin tone color.

Windows 11 22H2

Beginning its rollout on 2021-11-22, Window 11&#39;s November 2021 update redesigned all of Microsoft&#39;s emojis, officially launching the <a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/11/22/express-yourself-with-new-emoji-now-available-in-windows-11/">2D incarnation</a> of the platform&#39;s Fluent&nbsp;emoji set. The&nbsp;Fluent&nbsp;redesign was <a href="https://medium.com/microsoft-design/emotionality-at-work-398182387adc">first&nbsp;previewed</a> ahead of <a href="https://worldemojiday.com/">World Emoji Day</a> 2021.

This update was the first to support <a href="/it/emoji-13.1/">Emoji 13.1</a>&nbsp;recommendations such as&nbsp;<a href="/it/cuore-in-fiamme/">❤️&zwj;🔥 Heart on Fire</a>&nbsp;and <a href="/it/testa-tra-le-nuvole/">😶&zwj;🌫️ Face in Clouds</a> on Windows.

Windows 11 November 2021 Update

Microsoft Windows 11&nbsp;launched&nbsp;on 2021-10-05, and was the first version of Windows update to support&nbsp;<a href="/it/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="/it/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>. Emojis in this release are displayed in the thick outlined&nbsp;Segoe Color Emoji&nbsp;style from Windows 10, instead of the <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/new-fluent-emoji-designs-from-microsoft/">Fluent designs</a> previewed ahead of <a href="https://worldemojiday.com/">World Emoji Day 2021</a>.

Support for <a href="/it/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>&nbsp;and <a href="/it/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>&nbsp;was initially made available via Windows 10 Insiders Builds <a href="https://twitter.com/Emojipedia/status/1337183890063187971">in December 2020</a>.

Windows 11

The first release of Windows 10, version 1507,&nbsp;added support for emoji <a href="/it/sequenza-del-modificatore-di-emoji/">modifiers</a>, as well as other changes to <a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/windows-10-emoji-changelog/">increase cross-platform consistency</a>. It was otherwise similar to <a href="/it/microsoft/windows-8.1/">Windows 8.1</a>.

This release was superceded by <a href="/it/microsoft/windows-10-anniversary-update/">Windows 10 Anniversary Update</a> on August 2, 2016.

Windows 10

Windows 8 came with support for black and white emoji images out of the box, as part of the new Segoe UI Emoji font. This font was also&nbsp;<a href="http://www.istartedsomething.com/20120818/microsoft-backports-windows-8-emoji-for-segoe-ui-symbol-to-windows-7/">backported</a> for Windows 7 users, alongside the release of Windows 8.

The face of a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicorn">unicorn</a>, a mythical creature in the form of a white <a href="/ko/%EB%A7%90/">horse</a> with a single, long horn on its forehead. Generally depicted as a white horse head facing left with a pink or purple mane and a yellow or rainbow-colored horn.

In addition to the mythical unicorn, may be used to convey whimsy, fantasy, uniqueness, specialness, peace, and love. Often used for various content related to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_symbols#Unicorns">LGBTQ community</a>, thanks in part to its <a href="/ko/%EB%AC%B4%EC%A7%80%EA%B0%9C-%EA%B9%83%EB%B0%9C/">rainbow</a> colors on many platforms. Also often used in association with &ldquo;unicorn&rdquo; startups. Sometimes used as a rainbow or holographic accent color.

A flag with six colors of the rainbow, generally including red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Commonly used by the LGBT movement as a gay pride flag, or simply&nbsp;pride flag and seen at <a href="/ko/pride/">Pride events</a>.

In February 2019 misinformation was spread about a <a href="https://www.fastcompany.com/90309797/no-theres-not-a-new-anti-lgbt-emoji">so-called</a> &quot;anti-lgbt emoji&quot; which can be created using a combining character to show a black and white glyph like&nbsp;🚫 <a href="https://twitter.com/Emojipedia/status/1097962057071095809">on top of the rainbow flag</a>. This is <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/fun-emoji-hacks/">possible with any emoji</a> on supported platforms, in the same way keycaps are combining characters.

Released in&nbsp;October&nbsp;2010, Unicode 6.0 was the first version of the Unicode Standard to support emoji.

Some characters in <a href="/ko/unicode-5.2/">prior</a>&nbsp;versions of Unicode were retroactively updated to provide&nbsp;an emoji presentation. This release was the first to introduce new characters for the sole purpose of compatability with emojis being used in Japan.
