A previous version of Windows displayed the carousel horse <a href="/nl/microsoft/windows-8.1/draaimolenpaard/" title="🎠 Carousel Horse on Microsoft Windows 8.1">facing right</a>, which was changed to <a href="/nl/microsoft/windows-10/draaimolenpaard/" title="🎠 Carousel Horse on Microsoft Windows 10">face left</a>&nbsp;on Windows 10 for cross-platform consistency.

Draaimolenpaard

A circus or birthday clown displayed with white face makeup, a red nose, exaggerated eyes and smile, and two tufts of hair (red or blue). Commonly used&nbsp;as&nbsp;comment on <a href="/nl/tiktok/">TikTok</a> or other social media platforms to indicate that a person&nbsp;is foolish, idiotic and/or selfish.

May instead describe something that is creepy or <a href="/nl/angstig-schreeuwend-gezicht/">scary</a>. Sometimes used as an unflattering alias for Donald Trump.

Clownsgezicht

A&nbsp;jockey riding a <a href="/nl/paard/" title="🐎 Horse">horse</a>&nbsp;in a horse race. Shown riding to the left of screen on all major platforms. Emoji <a href="/nl/emoji-modifier-sequence/">modifiers</a> change the skin tone of the jockey on some platforms, which can be difficult to discern at small sizes.

Jockey Op Renpaard

A family unit shown with two <a href="/nl/volwassene/">adults</a> and one <a href="/nl/kind/">child</a>. Previously displayed with the same design as&nbsp;<a href="/nl/gezin-man-vrouw-jongen/">👨&zwj;👩&zwj;👦 Family: Man, Woman, Boy</a> on most platforms, but now has its own gender inclusive appearance.

Gezin

The face of a horse, generally facing left. Depicted as a light or reddish-brown horse with a dark brown or black mane, and, on many platforms, a light-colored muzzle.

Not to be confused with the full-bodied <a href="/nl/paard/">🐎 Horse</a> or <a href="/nl/jockey-op-renpaard/">🏇 Horse Racing</a>, though their applications may overlap. Some vendors implement a&nbsp;similar design in <a href="/nl/eenhoorn/">🦄 Unicorn Face</a> and <a href="/nl/zebra/">🦓 Zebra</a>.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s horse is facing left, as Facebook&rsquo;s <a href="/nl/facebook/1.0/paardengezicht/">previously</a> was. Microsoft&rsquo;s horse was <a href="/nl/microsoft/windows-10/paardengezicht/">previously</a> looking straight ahead, as was <a href="/nl/samsung/experience-9.0/paardengezicht/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a>, shown with a goofy, full-toothed grin. Softbank <a href="/nl/softbank/2006/paardengezicht/">previously</a> featured a full-bodied horse.

Paardengezicht

A horse, a hoofed mammal used for riding and racing. Depicted as a brown horse in full profile galloping to the left, with a dark, flowing mane and tail.

May be used to represent various types of horses and their metaphorical senses (e.g., mustang, stallion).

May also be used as a compliment to an attractive person.

Apple&rsquo;s horse is wearing a green saddle blanket, Facebook&rsquo;s a blue blanket with saddle. SoftBank&rsquo;s design <a href="/nl/softbank/2006/paard/">previously</a> featured a racing horse with a jockey.

Paard

The face of a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicorn">unicorn</a>, a mythical creature in the form of a white <a href="/nl/paard/">horse</a> with a single, long horn on its forehead. Generally depicted as a white horse head facing left with a pink or purple mane and a yellow or rainbow-colored horn.

In addition to the mythical unicorn, may be used to convey whimsy, fantasy, uniqueness, specialness, peace, and love. Often used for various content related to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_symbols#Unicorns">LGBTQ community</a>, thanks in part to its <a href="/nl/regenboogvlag/">rainbow</a> colors on many platforms. Also often used in association with &ldquo;unicorn&rdquo; startups. Sometimes used as a rainbow or holographic accent color.

Vendors implement the emoji with the same or similar design as <a href="/nl/paardengezicht/">🐴 Horse Face</a>, but with colorful hair and a horn.

Available as an Apple&nbsp;<a href="/nl/animoji/">Animoji</a>.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s unicorn is facing right. Google&rsquo;s unicorn <a href="/nl/google/android-7.0/eenhoorn/">previously</a> had a brown mane, <a href="/nl/samsung/experience-9.0/eenhoorn/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> a pink mane. Twitter&rsquo;s unicorn was <a href="/nl/twitter/twemoji-2.0/eenhoorn/">previously</a> purple-colored with a blue mane.

Eenhoorn

A zebra, a horse-like mammal with black-and-white stripes. Variously depicted in full profile on all fours facing left or as a&nbsp;zebra head facing left with a short mane.

Apple, Microsoft, WhatsApp, Samsung, and Facebook&rsquo;s designs feature the full animal; Google and Twitter&#39;s&nbsp;designs feature a head with a short mane and black muzzle. Facebook&rsquo;s design <a href="/nl/facebook/2.1/zebra/">previously</a> featured only a zebra head, as did <a href="/nl/samsung/one-ui-1.0/zebra/">Samsung&#39;s</a>.

Zebra

A large rotating wheel, often found at a carnival or fair.
