Emoji Meaning

A colorful decorated container that comes in many shapes, a piñata is filled with candy or toys. Hit to break open for celebrations such as Cinco de Mayo, this is generally associated with Mexico.

Displayed on iOS and Android as a traditional star shape with 6-9 points, this is sometimes displayed as a donkey, including on Samsung devices as well as WhatsApp for Android.

Piñata was approved as part of Unicode 13.0 in 2020 and added to Emoji 13.0 in 2020.
