Shrimp

A pointed knife with a steel blade, as used for thrusting in close combat. Generally depicted as double-edged with a black, brown or gold&nbsp;cross-shaped hilt and positioned at 45&deg; angle, often with its tip at the lower left.

May represent knives and other bladed weapons (cf. <a href="/crossed-swords/">⚔️&nbsp;Crossed Swords</a>) as well as various senses of cutting and stabbing. Often applied to medieval or fantasy content.

Google&rsquo;s design&nbsp;<a href="/google/android-9.0/dagger/">previously</a> featured&nbsp;an icy-blue blade and <a href="/sparkles/">sparkles</a>, suggests a dagger <a href="/elf/">elves</a> may wield in fantasy.

May be paired with (or defended by) <a href="/shield/">🛡️&nbsp;Shield</a>. Not to be confused with <a href="/kitchen-knife/">🔪&nbsp;Kitchen Knife</a>.

Dagger Knife

A friendly, cartoon-styled face of a koala&mdash;a bear-like <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsupial">marsupial</a> known for eating eucalyptus and sleeping&mdash;looking straight ahead. Depicted as a gray face with round, fluffy ears and a large, black nose.

Often used with an affectionate tone and in association with <a href="/flag-australia/">Australia</a>, where the animal is found.

A flying disc, more commonly known as a frisbee. Used in the sport of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_(sport)">Ultimate</a>&nbsp;or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_golf">disc golf</a>.

Flying Disc

A kangaroo, a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsupial">marsupial</a> with a large tail and legs. Depicted in yellowish-brown in full profile facing left with large, pointed ears, shown either resting on its hind legs and tail or jumping.

Unicode 13.0 is the version of the Unicode Standard&nbsp;released on&nbsp;March 10, 2020. 55 new emoji&nbsp;code points were added in this release,&nbsp;with all 117 new emojis for 2020 (including sequences for gender and skin tone)&nbsp;listed under <a href="/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>.

Samsung devices use <a href="https://news.samsung.com/global/samsungs-emoji-suite-makes-for-a-more-emotional-digital-world">their own emoji designs</a>&nbsp;which are different to those used on other <a href="/google/">Android devices</a>. These&nbsp;glossy emojis&nbsp;appear on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note series and are updated as part of the Samsung One UI interface layer (previously Samsung Experience, before that Samsung TouchWiz)&nbsp;which runs on top of Android.

Note that Samsung users may see select emojis display as their <a href="/google/">Google</a>&nbsp;set design. This is due to <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/faster-emoji-updates-on-the-way-for-android-apps/">Android AppCompat</a>, which will display a Google emoji design within an app or web platform&nbsp;when a Samsung device has not yet been updated to support that particular emoji.

Since the introduction of Samsung&#39;s emoji set in <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-2.0">2014</a>, various Unicode characters that have not been recommended to have emoji presentation have nevertheless been given a colorful emoji design on Samsung platforms. Samsung Emoji List — Emojis for Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note [Updated 2023]

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices on 28 March 2024, Samsung&#39;s One UI 6.1 redesigns most emojis within the&nbsp;<a href="/travel-places">🚀 Travel &amp; Places</a> and&nbsp;<a href="/objects">💡 Objects</a> categories while also revising the outline and shading of hundreds of additional emojis&#39; designs.

One UI 6.1

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices on 30&nbsp;October 2023, Samsung&#39;s One UI 6.0&nbsp;featured a completely new design style for the majority of the vendor&#39;s emojis.

All smiley, food, and animal emoji designs have been revised in this update, as have the majority of the people emojis.

This is the most significant revision of the vendor&#39;s emoji set since&nbsp;February 2018&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="https://emojipedia.org/samsung/experience-9.0">Experience 9.0</a> update, which introduced a significant number of design revisions that were consistent with those used on other platforms.

This update also introduced support for the 2023 <a href="https://emojipedia.org/emoji-15.1">Emoji 15.1</a> recommendation list.

One UI 6.0

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices from October 2022, Samsung&#39;s One UI 5.0 provided support for both&nbsp;2021&#39;s <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> and 2022&#39;s <a href="https://emojipedia.org/emoji-15.0/">Emoji 15.0</a>&nbsp;recommendations.

Prior to the release of One UI 5.0, many Samsung users may have seen support for <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>&nbsp;emojis provided via <a href="/google/">Google&#39;s emoji design set</a>. This was due to Google&#39;s expansion of&nbsp;<a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/faster-emoji-updates-on-the-way-for-android-apps/">Android AppCompat</a>&nbsp;in 2021.

A select number of users also reported seeing <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>&nbsp;designs in Samsung&#39;s emoji font when updating to One UI 4.1.1 in September 2022.

One UI 5.0

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices from&nbsp;mid-January 2022, this small emoji updated changed the design of Samsung&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="/sparkles/">✨ Sparkles</a> emoji to be more consistent&nbsp;with those of other emoji vendors.

Additional devices received this emoji update alongside Samsung&#39;s&nbsp;One UI 4.1 update, which was made widely available in March 2022 after initially debuting with the Galaxy S22 series of devices a month earlier.

Beginning its rollout on&nbsp;2021-11-15 for Samsung&#39;s Galaxy S21 series of mobile devices,&nbsp;Samsung One UI 4.0&nbsp;added support for <a href="/emoji-13.1/">Emoji 13.1</a>.

Beginning its rollout in late July 2021 to select Samsung&rsquo;s Galaxy Z devices, One UI 3.1.1 updated a small number of existing emoji designs.

Select devices running Samsung One UI 3.1 were also given this emoji update&nbsp;via a firmware update in August 2021.

One UI 3.1.1

Released alongside the Galaxy Note 20 on&nbsp;2020-08-21, Samsung One UI 2.5 added support for <a href="/emoji-13.0/">Emoji 13.0</a>. One UI 2.5

Samsung One UI 1.0 (formerly known as Samsung Experience 10.0) began rolling out to users in&nbsp;December&nbsp;2018. The first major devices to launch with this release were the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, announced on February 20, 2019.
