Also used for various content concerning time, date, schedules, planning, and observances and&nbsp;occasions more generally.

Microsoft, Twitter and Facebook&rsquo;s design feature a generic month. WhatsApp&#39;s design shows in a green header February, when it was incorporated in 2009. Apple, Samsung, and JoyPixels&rsquo;s designs show the month of July, when <a href="https://worldemojiday.com/">World Emoji Day</a> falls on the 17th, a date Google&#39;s design <a href="/google/android-8.0/spiral-calendar/">used to</a> specifically display.

Spiral Calendar Pad

A card index, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolodex">Rolodex</a>, once used to organize and access cards containing the information of personal or business contacts. Depicted as a black or gray rotating device with a contact card displayed, including a graphic and text.

Occasionally used to represent contact details/information and&nbsp;business cards. Thanks to its appearance, this emoji&nbsp;is sometimes mistaken for such things as documents or word processing.

Commonly used for various content concerning filing, organization, and work, especially at an <a href="/office-building/">office</a>.

Like <a href="/calendar/">📅 Calendar</a> and <a href="/spiral-calendar/">🗓️ Spiral Calendar</a>, commonly used as an icon for specific upcoming events or memorial dates. Also used for various content concerning time, date, schedules, planning, and observances and&nbsp;occasions more generally.

The date shown is July 17. This date was first used by Apple as a reference to <a href="https://gizmodo.com/fun-fact-time-icals-birthday-is-today-279393">when iCal for Mac premiered at MacWorld Expo in 2002</a>. Since 2014 Emojipedia has celebrated&nbsp;<a href="https://worldemojiday.com/">World Emoji Day</a>&nbsp;on July 17, because of this emoji.

Major platforms previously used a variety of dates on this calendar, but have changed in recent years to also show July 17, to avoid confusion on World Emoji Day.&nbsp;Some vendors still feature easter egg dates marking company&nbsp;founding&nbsp;or other milestones:

Appearance varies across platforms, but generally depicted at&nbsp;a 45&deg; angle as a thin, white or red strip with a decorative tie and design, such as flower or <a href="/star/">star</a>.

May be used for various content concerning reading, labeling, or tagging.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s bookmark is purple. Twitter&rsquo;s design shows a red bookmark in a closed book, similar to previous designs from <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/bookmark/">Microsoft</a>. <a href="/twitter/twemoji-1.0/bookmark/">Twitter</a> and <a href="/google/android-7.0/bookmark/">Google&rsquo;s</a> designs previously featured a blue bookmark.

WhatsApp&#39;s is white.&nbsp;Apple removed&nbsp;its ring from <a href="/apple/ios-10.2/label/">earlier&nbsp;designs</a>. Samsung <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/label/">previously featured</a> the easter egg initials HMJ,&nbsp;while&nbsp;Google&#39;s design <a href="/google/android-8.0/label/">previously</a>&nbsp;featured&nbsp;two tags.

Sheets of white, printed paper with variously colored tabs to bookmark important sections or indicate signature lines. Commonly used for content concerning various types of documents and writing.

The number of pages and tabs vary, with Microsoft and Twitter&rsquo;s designs featuring one page with a single, purple-colored tab. Facebook&rsquo;s is printed with NDA, or nondisclosure agreement. Most platforms indicate text with dark lines. The Unicode Consortium approved the following characters as part of <a href="http://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode7.0.0/">Unicode 7.0</a>, released on June 16, 2014.&nbsp;Support for these emoji characters rely on updates from platform vendors such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft.

Initially, 250&nbsp;new characters in Unicode 7.0 were approved for emoji presentation, however this was later reduced to 103 Standard Additions which are listed below. The other characters remain part of Unicode, but are not recommended&nbsp;to be included as emojis.

The exception to this was the <a href="/left-speech-bubble/" title="🗨 Left Speech Bubble">Left Speech Bubble</a>, and as such wasn&#39;t initially specified on other platforms as an emoji. A later-accepted&nbsp;<a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/diverse-spy-proposal/">proposal</a>&nbsp;updated this.

Samsung devices use <a href="https://news.samsung.com/global/samsungs-emoji-suite-makes-for-a-more-emotional-digital-world">their own emoji designs</a>&nbsp;which are different to those used on other <a href="/google/">Android devices</a>. These&nbsp;glossy emojis&nbsp;appear on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note series and are updated as part of the Samsung One UI interface layer (previously Samsung Experience, before that Samsung TouchWiz)&nbsp;which runs on top of Android.

Note that Samsung users may see select emojis display as their <a href="/google/">Google</a>&nbsp;set design. This is due to <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/faster-emoji-updates-on-the-way-for-android-apps/">Android AppCompat</a>, which will display a Google emoji design within an app or web platform&nbsp;when a Samsung device has not yet been updated to support that particular emoji.

Since the introduction of Samsung&#39;s emoji set in <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-2.0">2014</a>, various Unicode characters that have not been recommended to have emoji presentation have nevertheless been given a colorful emoji design on Samsung platforms. Note:&nbsp;<a href="/whatsapp/">WhatsApp</a>, <a href="/twitter/">Twitter</a>, and <a href="/facebook/">Facebook</a> have their&nbsp;own emoji designs&nbsp;which are used&nbsp;instead of Google or Samsung emojis in their respective apps on Android devices.

Samsung Emoji List — Emojis for Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy Note [Updated 2023]

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices on 28 March 2024, Samsung&#39;s One UI 6.1&nbsp;revised a considerable number of previously available emoji designs.

Many emojis had subtle modifications made to their outline, contrast, and shading, including the majority of&nbsp;<a href="/people">🧑 People</a> emojis. Meanwhile, many emojis within&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href="/travel-places">🚀 Travel &amp; Places</a> and&nbsp;<a href="/objects">💡 Objects</a> categories were given more extensive redesigns.&nbsp;

One UI 6.1

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices on 30&nbsp;October 2023, Samsung&#39;s One UI 6.0&nbsp;featured a completely new design style for the majority of the vendor&#39;s emojis.

All smiley, food, and animal emoji designs have been revised in this update, as have the majority of the people emojis.

One UI 6.0

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices from October 2022, Samsung&#39;s One UI 5.0 provided support for both&nbsp;2021&#39;s <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> and 2022&#39;s <a href="https://emojipedia.org/emoji-15.0/">Emoji 15.0</a>&nbsp;recommendations.

Prior to the release of One UI 5.0, many Samsung users may have seen support for <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>&nbsp;emojis provided via <a href="/google/">Google&#39;s emoji design set</a>. This was due to Google&#39;s expansion of&nbsp;<a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/faster-emoji-updates-on-the-way-for-android-apps/">Android AppCompat</a>&nbsp;in 2021.

A select number of users also reported seeing <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a>&nbsp;designs in Samsung&#39;s emoji font when updating to One UI 4.1.1 in September 2022.

One UI 5.0

Beginning its rollout for select Samsung devices from&nbsp;mid-January 2022, this small emoji updated changed the design of Samsung&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="/sparkles/">✨ Sparkles</a> emoji to be more consistent&nbsp;with those of other emoji vendors.

Additional devices received this emoji update alongside Samsung&#39;s&nbsp;One UI 4.1 update, which was made widely available in March 2022 after initially debuting with the Galaxy S22 series of devices a month earlier.
