Large Blue Diamond

Used in a similar manner to a regular * asterisk&nbsp;character but tends to be shown in a similar vertical alignment to a &bull;&nbsp;bullet point.&nbsp;The eight spoked asterisk&nbsp;has both a ✳︎&nbsp;text and ✳️&nbsp;emoji presentation available on most&nbsp;platforms.

Eight Spoked Asterisk

A barrel for transporting bulk liquids, such as oil. Generally depicted as a red or blue metal drum with holes or a stopper on its lid. Commonly used for various content concerning petroleum or hazardous waste.

Google&rsquo;s design <a href="/google/android-8.0/oil-drum/">previously&nbsp;displayed</a>&nbsp;a yellow oil drop symbol, while&nbsp;Samsung&#39;s design <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/oil-drum/">previously&nbsp;featured</a> a yellow hazard sign.

Oil Drum

A diamond symbol emoji, which is used in card games for the diamonds&nbsp;suit.

Apple&#39;s design <a href="/apple/ios-5.1/diamond-suit/">previously</a> displayed the red diamond symbol on a white playing card.

Blue Book

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazar_(amulet)#Amulet">nazar</a>, an eye-shaped amulet believed to protect against the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye">evil eye</a>, especially in Turkish culture. Depicted as a rich blue, circular bead with a black dot in the center ringed with white and light blue, resembling an <a href="/eye/">eye</a>.

Commonly used to represent eyes, various senses of looking, various senses of&nbsp;charms, envy and jealousy, and&nbsp;<a href="/flag-turkey/">Turkey</a> and Turkish culture. Also used for its blue color more generally.

WhatsApp and Facebook&#39;s designs include a small hole, as for threading the amulet on a string or chain.

Nazar Amulet

A jewel or gem, as set into a <a href="/ring/">ring</a>. Depicted in the shape of a classic diamond but in the bright blue color of an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beryl#Aquamarine_and_maxixe">aquamarine</a>.

Commonly used for various content concerning jewelry, as upon an engagement or <a href="/wedding-marriage/">marriage</a>. May also convey various literal and figurative senses of beauty, wealth, sophistication, preciousness, and sparkling.

Gem Stone

A square shown in the color&nbsp;of&nbsp;blue. May be used to represent anything blue.

Large Blue Square

A blue heart emoji, commonly <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/what-every-heart-emoji-really-means/">used by brands</a> as a neutral heart color.

An <a href="/google/android-4.4/blue-heart/">early Google design</a> of this emoji depicted the heart&nbsp;as if it were made out of <a href="/gem-stone/">gemstone</a>.

The SoftBank emoji designs&nbsp;heavily influenced&nbsp;<a href="/apple/iphone-os-2.2/">Apple&#39;s original emoji font</a>&nbsp;which was&nbsp;<a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/apples-emoji-evolution-1997-2018/">designed to be compatible with this set</a>&nbsp;when launching in Japan, due&nbsp;to iPhone being a SoftBank-exclusive phone when first released.

SoftBank&nbsp;<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&amp;tl=en&amp;js=y&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.softbank.jp%2Fmobile%2Finfo%2Fpersonal%2Fsoftware%2F20170120-02%2F&amp;edit-text=">announced</a> it would switch to using Google emoji designs from 2016, for&nbsp;phones supporting <a href="/google/android-7.0/">Android 7.0</a> or above. SoftBank no longer releases&nbsp;updates to this emoji set.

The last update to SoftBank&#39;s emoji set was released in 2014 and discontinued in 2016. This release added 277 new characters

A minor update to this set removed regional indicators in 2016, but otherwise delivered no new changes.
