WhatsApp&rsquo;s horse is facing left, as Facebook&rsquo;s <a href="/facebook/1.0/horse-face/">previously</a> was. Microsoft&rsquo;s horse was <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/horse-face/">previously</a> looking straight ahead, as was <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/horse-face/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a>, shown with a goofy, full-toothed grin. Softbank <a href="/softbank/2006/horse-face/">previously</a> featured a full-bodied horse.

Horse Face

A horse, a hoofed mammal used for riding and racing. Depicted as a brown horse in full profile galloping to the left, with a dark, flowing mane and tail.

May be used to represent various types of horses and their metaphorical senses (e.g., mustang, stallion).

May also be used as a compliment to an attractive person.

One of the 12 animals of the <a href="/chinese-new-year/">Chinese zodiac</a>.a

Not to be confused with <a href="/horse-face/">🐴 Horse Face</a>, <a href="/carousel-horse/">🎠 Carousel Horse</a>, and <a href="/horse-racing/">🏇 Horse Racing</a>, which features a jockey on its back.

The male version of the <a href="/guard/">💂&nbsp;Guardsman</a> emoji.&nbsp;Currently identical in appearance to the non-gendered base emoji.

Man Guard

The face of a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicorn">unicorn</a>, a mythical creature in the form of a white <a href="/horse/">horse</a> with a single, long horn on its forehead. Generally depicted as a white horse head facing left with a pink or purple mane and a yellow or rainbow-colored horn.

In addition to the mythical unicorn, may be used to convey whimsy, fantasy, uniqueness, specialness, peace, and love. Often used for various content related to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_symbols#Unicorns">LGBTQ community</a>, thanks in part to its <a href="/rainbow-flag/">rainbow</a> colors on many platforms. Also often used in association with &ldquo;unicorn&rdquo; startups. Sometimes used as a rainbow or holographic accent color.

Vendors implement the emoji with the same or similar design as <a href="/horse-face/">🐴 Horse Face</a>, but with colorful hair and a horn.

Available as an Apple&nbsp;<a href="/animoji/">Animoji</a>.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s unicorn is facing right. Google&rsquo;s unicorn <a href="/google/android-7.0/unicorn/">previously</a> had a brown mane, <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/unicorn/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> a pink mane. Twitter&rsquo;s unicorn was <a href="/twitter/twemoji-2.0/unicorn/">previously</a> purple-colored with a blue mane.

Unicorn Face

A brightly colored folding hand fan.

Can be used to talk about fans, both manual and electric. Can also&nbsp;be used to reference various dances involving fans including the Korean dance of Buchaechum, the Japanese dance of Nihon-buyō, and the Maranao dance of the Singkil.

May be used to refer to a person who is a fan (or admirer) of someone or something.

May also be used along with the phrases fan the flames or when shit hits the fan.

Folding Hand Fan

A <a title="🇬🇧 Flag For Great Britain" href="/flag-united-kingdom/">British</a> guardsman, known as a foot guard. Wears a tall black hat with a yellow chin-strap. Must look straight ahead at all times, even when tourists attempt to distract them.

Guardsman

Male royalty, intended as a gender pair for the <a href="/princess/" title="👸 Princess">princess emoji</a>. Shown as a <a href="/man/" title="👨 Man">man</a> with a crown.

Not a reference to the musician Prince, however the <a href="/man-singer/">man singer emoji on WhatsApp</a> does show a character that bears a heavy resemblance to this artist.

The last update to SoftBank&#39;s emoji set was released in 2014 and discontinued in 2016. This release added 277 new characters

A minor update to this set removed regional indicators in 2016, but otherwise delivered no new changes.
