Confounded Face

A yellow face with a slight frown, furrowed eyebrows, and scrunched eyes, as if holding back tears or exerting great effort. May convey various degrees and tones of frustration, sadness, helplessness, and struggle. Facebook&rsquo;s design features a light-purple forehead.

Persevering Face

A yellow face with scrunched, X-shaped eyes, furrowed eyebrows, and a broad, open frown, as if yawning in exhaustion or groaning in exasperation. Usually shown with upper teeth and sometimes tongue.

While intended to represent tiredness, it commonly conveys various degrees and tones of frustration and sadness as well excitement and affection, as if it just can&rsquo;t handle how great someone or something is.

Similar in appearance and meaning to <a href="/weary-face/">😩 Weary Face</a>, but with scrunched eyes. Not to be confused with <a href="/sleepy-face/">😪 Sleepy Face</a> or <a href="/sleeping-face/">😴 Sleeping Face</a>, which often convey actually being asleep.&nbsp;

Tired Face

A cartoon cat variant of <a href="/pouting-face/">😡 Pouting Face</a>. Also resembles <a href="/angry-face/">😠 Angry Face</a>. Depicted as yellow on major platforms. Sometimes used to represent the internet meme and celebrity <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumpy_Cat">Grumpy Cat</a>.

Apple&rsquo;s design <a href="/apple/ios-6.0/pouting-cat/">previously displayed</a> the face in profile, as did <a href="/twitter/twemoji-1.0/pouting-cat/">Twitter&#39;s</a>. Commonly used to convey mischief, naughtiness, and excitement or excellence (slang,&nbsp;bad&nbsp;or&nbsp;wicked). May also represent devils or devilish behavior, especially around <a href="/halloween/">Halloween</a>. More playful and suggestive than its impish counterpart, <a href="/angry-face-with-horns/">👿&nbsp;Angry Face With Horns</a>.

Bears the same expression as <a href="/angry-face/">😠&nbsp;Angry Face</a> and <a href="/pouting-face/">😡&nbsp;Pouting Face</a> on most platforms. Google&rsquo;s design is red and Facebook&rsquo;s has black horns, green eyes, and clenched teeth.

Its Unicode name, Imp, alludes to a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imp">small demon</a> in folklore, though the smiley is commonly used to represent devils and devilish behavior, especially around <a href="/halloween/">Halloween</a>. It is also used to convey various sentiments of anger or ideas of evil. More menacing than its counterpart, <a href="/smiling-face-with-horns/">😈&nbsp;Smiling Face With Horns</a>.

Samsung <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/angry-face-with-horns/">previously depicted</a> a childlike character with red hair and horns, fangs, and black wings. Earlier designs from <a href="/google/android-5.0/angry-face-with-horns/">Google featured</a> an orangish-red character with blue hair and wings.

Similar in appearance and meaning to <a href="/tired-face/">😫&nbsp;Tired Face</a>, but with crescent-shaped eyes. Huawei&#39;s design has its <a href="/tongue">tongue</a> hanging out of its mouth. Samsung&rsquo;s design previously featured large eyes half-closed in tiredness.

Weary Face

A yellow face with open eyes, raised or furrowed eyebrows, and a broad frown.&nbsp;May convey a variety of moderately sad or tense emotions, including concern, anxiety, alarm, disappointment, and unhappiness.&nbsp;

An increased resolution and a number of design changes. This was the first release to switch the <a href="/person-tipping-hand/">💁&nbsp;Person Tipping Hand</a> (nee Information Desk Person) from a <a href="/softbank/2001/person-tipping-hand/">Man</a> to a <a href="/softbank/2004/person-tipping-hand/">Woman</a>, and many emojis were redesigned with additional detail.
