Samsung <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/angry-face-with-horns/">previously depicted</a> a childlike character with red hair and horns, fangs, and black wings. Earlier designs from <a href="/google/android-5.0/angry-face-with-horns/">Google featured</a> an orangish-red character with blue hair and wings.

Angry Face

A circus or birthday clown displayed with white face makeup, a red nose, exaggerated eyes and smile, and two tufts of hair (red or blue). Commonly used&nbsp;as&nbsp;comment on <a href="/tiktok/">TikTok</a> or other social media platforms to indicate that a person&nbsp;is foolish, idiotic and/or selfish.

May instead describe something that is creepy or <a href="/face-screaming-in-fear/">scary</a>. Sometimes used as an unflattering alias for Donald Trump.

Clown Face

A whitish-gray, cartoon-styled human skull with large, black eye sockets. Commonly expresses figurative death, e.g., dying from extreme laughter, frustration, or affection.

Skull

A yellow face with scrunched, X-shaped eyes and a crumpled mouth, as if quivering in frustration or holding back tears. May be used to represent being overcome with various emotions, including irritation, frustration, disgust, and sadness,&nbsp;as if to the point of defeat.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Microsoft and Twitter&rsquo;s designs feature&nbsp;eyebrows, Facebook&rsquo;s a purple forehead.

Grawlixes are typographical symbols (e.g.,&nbsp;@#$%&amp;!) representing swear words or obscenities. Often used to convey an outburst of anger, frustration, or rage.

Most platforms feature the same eyes as on their <a href="/angry-face/">😠 Angry Face</a>.

Serious Face with Symbols Covering Mouth

Samsung&rsquo;s design <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/face-with-steam-from-nose/">previously looked</a> like its head was titled back in a more arrogant expression. Earlier designs <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.1/face-with-steam-from-nose/">from Microsoft</a> depicted a big, open mouth without steam and <a href="/facebook/1.0/face-with-steam-from-nose/">from Facebook,</a> a smiley that resembled <a href="/grimacing-face/">😬 Grimacing Face</a>.

Face with Look of Triumph

A villain&nbsp;which may be displayed as a man,woman or gender-neutral / gender-inclusive&nbsp;depending on the platform. This base emoji does not specify a gender, but is used to create the emojis for <a href="/man-supervillain/">Man Supervillain</a> and <a href="/woman-supervillain/">Woman Supervillain</a>.

South Korean financial technology company Toss (토스) provides its own emoji design set within its mobile application. The design set, entitled Toss Face (토스페이스), has also been made available as a free font file for Apple devices.

First launched in early 2022, the Toss Face emoji set originally included a series of intentionally divergent emoji designs compared to those of other vendors.

The majority of these divergent designs followed two broad themes. Firstly,&nbsp;rendering culturally-specific Japanese emojis with designs representing related South Korean concepts (e.g. the <a href="/sake/">🍶 Sake</a> emoji appearing as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makgeolli">makgeolli</a>).

Secondly, emojis&nbsp;representing older technologies with designs representing more contemporary innovations. (e.g. <a href="/pager/">📟 Pager</a> displaying as instant messaging speech bubbles; <a href="/auto-rickshaw/">🛺 Auto Rickshaw</a> being displyed as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unmanned_aerial_vehicle">drone</a>).

In March 2022 these divergent designs were updated to accurately reflect Unicode&#39;s recommendations. In April 2022 they were re-added to the Toss app using <a href="https://emojipedia.org/glossary/">Private Use Area</a> codepoints.&nbsp;
