A person shrugging their shoulders to indicate a lack of knowledge about a particular topic, or a lack of care about the result of a situation.&nbsp;&macr;\_(ツ)_/&macr;

Displays as raised shoulders, sometimes in conjunction with raised arms and flat hands. The shrug gesture in text (emoticon / kaomoji) form is known as a <a href="https://kaomojipedia.org/shruggie/">shruggie</a> and typed as: &macr;\_(ツ)_/&macr;

A mobile phone (cell phone), as used to text, check social media, or take <a href="/selfie/">selfies</a>. Depicted as a black or gray smartphone with a generic blue screen or multicolored app icons. Commonly used for various content concerning mobile phones, technology, and communication.

The designs from Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung resemble phones offered by their respective companies, e.g., iPhone. WhatsApp&rsquo;s design features a night sky as its wallpaper, displaying the time as 9:34.

<a href="/au-kddi/type-a-2/mobile-phone/">Early designs</a> for the mobile phone emoji from au by KDDI resembled a traditional&nbsp;<a href="/telephone-receiver/">telephone receiver</a>, and vice versa, before having their codepoints swapped in later releases.

Mobile Phone

A <a href="/mobile-phone/">mobile phone</a> (cell phone) with a <a href="/right-arrow/">rightward&nbsp;arrow</a> pointed at it from the left. Intended to indicate an incoming call or message, but used to represent mobile phones, technology, and communication more generally.

Arrow color varies, but is often blue. Vendors implement the same design as <a href="/mobile-phone/">📱 Mobile Phone</a>.

The Unicode Consortium accepted the following emoji 72 emojis&nbsp;for Unicode 9.0. This update&nbsp;was released&nbsp;on June 21, 2016. Most vendors added support for this update within the 2016 calendar year.&nbsp;<a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/unicode-9-0-released-with-72-new-emojis/">Sample images and more about Unicode 9.0</a>.

<a href="/emoji-4.0/">Emoji 4.0</a> was published in late 2016, which added additional emoji professions.

<h2>New in Unicode 9</h2>

When Twitter users are uploading an image within&nbsp;the platform&#39;s&nbsp;mobile app, they are able to make a variety of different&nbsp;edits to that image before posting the image as part of a tweet.

One edit option is the ability to overlay sticker icon on top of the uploaded image, and as of October&nbsp;2022 the&nbsp;available sticker options include&nbsp;a custom set of glossy, highly-detailed emoji images.&nbsp;

At present, these Twitter Emoji Stickers support emojis from up to late 2020&#39;s Emoji 13.1 recommendations. It is not presently known if or when these glossy designs will replace Twitter&#39;s long-standing open-source Twemoji emoji designs within tweets themselves.

These emoji designs&nbsp;are also currently used for the platform&#39;s Twitter Status feature, where&nbsp;users are able&nbsp;tag tweets with one of several pre-defined&nbsp;statuses consisting of an emoji design and text, such as &quot;✨ That&#39;s it, that&#39;s the Tweet&quot;.

Select designs from this sticker set first began to appear across different Twitter features from early 2021, such as the platform&#39;s short-lived Fleets feature.

Detailed and glossy emoji sticker designs available for use within Twitter's mobile image editor and used by the platform's Twitter Status feature.

After being teased across a variety of different <a href="https://emojipedia.org/twitter/">Twitter</a> features from 2021 onwards, in October 2022 Twitter launched a full set of Unicode-compliant emoji stickers supporting up to 2020&#39;s <a href="https://emojipedia.org/emoji-13.1/">Emoji 13.1</a> recommendations.

These stickers can be accessed via the Twitter mobile app&#39;s image editing tools and are also used by the platform&#39;s Twitter Status feature.
