This emoji is generally displayed as a forward-facing train, with some platforms also displaying a tunnel as a circle surrounding the train. Apple&#39;s artwork shows the characters&nbsp;IL2&nbsp;which may be a reference to one of the more <a href="https://www.wired.com/story/apple-infinite-loop-oral-history/">locked-down buildings&nbsp;at Apple&#39;s Infinite Loop</a> Headquarters during iPhone development&nbsp;(IL2 = Infinite Loop 2).

Metro

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moai">moai</a>, one of the famed, giant stone statues of human figures&nbsp;on Easter Island. Depicted as a gray&nbsp;stone carving of a stylized human head with a prominent brow and nose, most often facing left.

Sometimes used for various idiosyncratic purposes, such as conveying a stoic, deadpan, or silly expression.

Its official Unicode name of Moyai&nbsp;and inclusion in early Japanese emoji sets, such as from au by KDDI, suggest&nbsp;the emoji may represent the <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Attraction_Review-g1066456-d1953259-Reviews-Moyai_Statue-Shibuya_Tokyo_Tokyo_Prefecture_Kanto.html">Moyai Statue</a> near Shibuya Station in Tokyo, Japan; previous designs from <a href="/google/android-4.3/moai/">Google</a> and <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.0/moai/">Microsoft</a>&nbsp;resemble the Tokyo statue. Other Tokyo landmarks are represented in&nbsp;<a href="/tokyo-tower/">🗼&nbsp;Tokyo Tower</a> and, formerly, <a href="/shibuya/">Shibuya 109</a>.

Google&rsquo;s artwork <a href="/google/android-5.0/railway-car/">previously</a>&nbsp;looked&nbsp;like a <a href="/bus/" title="🚌 Bus">bus</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;Microsoft&#39;s older versions&nbsp;appeared&nbsp;similar to a <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/railway-car/">minecart</a>.

Released 2022-04-19, this update for WhatsApp on Android devices introduced support for <a href="/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> emojis such as <a href="/melting-face/">🫠&nbsp;Melting Face</a>, as well as&nbsp;multiple skin tone versions of the&nbsp;<a href="/handshake/">🤝 Handshake</a>&nbsp;emoji.

Released 2021-11-25, this update introduced&nbsp;additional skin tone combinations&nbsp;for the<a href="/people-holding-hands/">🧑&zwj;🤝&zwj;🧑 People Holding Hands</a>&nbsp;emoji from late 2019&#39;s <a href="/emoji-12.1/">Emoji 12.1</a>, as well as many different &nbsp;<a href="/kiss/">💏 Kiss</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="/couple-with-heart/">💑 Couple with Heart</a> skin tone combinations from late 2020&#39;s <a href="/emoji-13.1/">Emoji 13.1</a>.

However, this release did not update WhatsApp&#39;s native emoji keyboard to allow for access&nbsp;to these new emojis.

Released 2021-08-18,&nbsp;this update included partial support for <a href="/emoji-13.1/">Emoji 13.1</a>, with&nbsp;three&nbsp;new smiley emoji and two new heart emojis.

The update also introduced <a href="/woman-beard/">🧔&zwj;♀️&nbsp;Woman: Beard</a> and updated the design of&nbsp;<a href="/person-beard/">🧔 Person: Beard</a> to be more gender neutral.
