Commonly used to represent various religious sentiments, jewelry, and magic.

Samsung&nbsp;<a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/prayer-beads/">previously featured</a> a <a href="/latin-cross/">Latin cross</a>, suggesting a Christian&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosary">rosary</a>, though now joins other vendor designs in resembling an Islamic <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misbaha">misbaha</a> or Buddhist <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_prayer_beads">mala</a>.

The Unicode Consortium has approved the following 41 emoji characters as part of <a href="http://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode8.0.0/">Unicode 8.0</a>, released on June 17, 2015. WhatsApp has its own emoji designs which are displayed on all WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp Web.

One emoji supported by WhatsApp but no other platform is the&nbsp;<a href="/flag-for-texas-ustx/">Texas Flag emoji</a>. This is a valid subdivision flag supported by Unicode, but not listed within any Unicode emoji release and as of 2019 is not supported by any other major vendors.

In 2021 WhatsApp introduced a&nbsp;<a href="/refugee-nation-flag/">Refugee Nation Flag</a> as a <a href="/emoji-zwj-sequence/">ZWJ sequence</a>. Like the <a href="/flag-for-texas-ustx/">Texas Flag emoji</a>, this&nbsp;flag is&nbsp;not supported by any other major vendors.
