Sleepy Face

A yellow face with eyes closed and mouth letting out three, cartoon-styled&nbsp;<a href="/zzz/">Zzz</a>&rsquo;s overhead to indicate it&#39;s sound asleep. The Zzz&rsquo;s appear&nbsp;blue or purple across most platforms. May also represent boredom (slang, snooze).

Generally used instead of <a href="/sleepy-face/">😪 Sleepy Face</a> to convey sleep&nbsp;or sleepiness.

Sleeping Face

A yellow face with scrunched, X-shaped eyes, furrowed eyebrows, and a broad, open frown, as if yawning in exhaustion or groaning in exasperation. Usually shown with upper teeth and sometimes tongue.

While intended to represent tiredness, it commonly conveys various degrees and tones of frustration and sadness as well excitement and affection, as if it just can&rsquo;t handle how great someone or something is.

Similar in appearance and meaning to <a href="/weary-face/">😩 Weary Face</a>, but with scrunched eyes. Not to be confused with <a href="/sleepy-face/">😪 Sleepy Face</a> or <a href="/sleeping-face/">😴 Sleeping Face</a>, which often convey actually being asleep.&nbsp;

Samsung&rsquo;s design <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/tired-face/">previously featured</a> three, vertical, blue lines over its forehead, which can indicate fatigue in manga and anime. A <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.1/tired-face/">previous</a> Microsoft design was <a href="/yawning-face/">yawning</a>.

Tired Face

A series of three Zs making a Zzz. Represents sleeping, snoring, dreaming, or any sleep-related state. Can also be used in some contexts to represent something that is&nbsp;boring.

Sleeping Symbol

A bed with a gender-unspecified person sleeping in it, as at a <a href="/house/">house</a>, <a href="/hotel/">hotel</a>,&nbsp;hostel, or other sleeping accommodation. Used especially for various content concerning <a href="/sleeping-face/">sleeping</a> as well as beds, furniture, housing, relaxing, and other bedroom activities.

Shown with a headboard at the left&nbsp;and footboard with a person under the covers, head on the pillow. Most platforms suggest a wooden frame and feature blue or red sheets.

The appearance of the person varies. Apple and Facebook&#39;s designs show only the hair of the sleeper, Apple&#39;s black and Facebook&#39;s brown and tousled. Other major vendors show the head of the sleeper in default yellow with short, brown or blonde&nbsp;hair. Skin tone support is not recommended for this emoji, though it is supported&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://emojipedia.org/sleeping-accommodation-type-4/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1550338562835000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHzfwaURXq7FmOe4Z-btvsniTcb0Q" href="/person-in-bed-medium-skin-tone/" target="_blank">on some platforms</a>.

A <a href="/battery/">battery</a> with a minimal amount of power remaining, indicated by the color red. Used to show low power or energy and the need to be plugged in or recharged.

One emoji supported by WhatsApp but no other platform is the&nbsp;<a href="/flag-for-texas-ustx/">Texas Flag emoji</a>. This is a valid subdivision flag supported by Unicode, but not listed within any Unicode emoji release and as of 2019 is not supported by any other major vendors.
