While this emoji is often used by people calling themselves nerds in a self-deprecating way, the nerdy glasses paired with buck teeth can, and often does, evoke anti-Asian stereotypes. Apple, Twitter, Microsoft, Samsung, and other platforms still use designs for this emoji that include buck teeth.

A cartoon-style balloon used to represent spoken word in comics. Sometimes &nbsp;used in communication apps to&nbsp;indicate that another person is typing a message.

A variation of <a href="/zh/ninja-cat/">Ninja Cat</a> which was&nbsp;shown using a <a href="/zh/%E7%AC%94%E8%AE%B0%E6%9C%AC%E7%94%B5%E8%84%91/">laptop computer</a>.&nbsp;This emoji was included in <a href="/zh/microsoft/">Windows 10</a> as a proprietary <a href="/zh/emoji-zwj-sequence/">ZWJ Sequence</a> which was not supported by other vendors.

Variations included the canonical <a href="/zh/ninja-cat/">🐱&zwj;👤&nbsp;Ninja Cat</a>&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;<a href="/zh/astro-cat/">🐱&zwj;🚀&nbsp;Astro Cat</a>,&nbsp;<a href="/zh/dino-cat/">🐱&zwj;🐉&nbsp;Dino Cat</a>,&nbsp;<a href="/zh/hipster-cat/">🐱&zwj;👓&nbsp;Hipster Cat</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="/zh/stunt-cat/">🐱&zwj;🏍&nbsp;Stunt Cat</a>.

Hacker Cat and the other&nbsp;variations of <a href="/zh/ninja-cat/">🐱&zwj;👤&nbsp;Ninja Cat</a>&nbsp;were removed in Microsoft&#39;s Fluent emoji redesign, released in late&nbsp;2021.
