Apple's 2017 emoji update comes as part of iOS 11.1. This is available for developers (in beta seeds) now.

A public release of iOS 11.1 is expected in late October or early November. macOS, watchOS and tvOS will also get updates in a similar timeframe.

In total, 69 new emojis are included in iOS 11.1 (plus skin tones) and include GiraffeFace VomitingGenieSauropod (dinosaur) and more.

About Apple Emojis

Apple emojis are used on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. These are part of the Apple Color Emoji font which comes with iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. Apple's emoji set is also used in Android and web apps including as Signal, Telegram and Slack.

Note: new emojis are coming to iOS in late October or early November with the release of iOS 11.1. This is now in developer beta.

Apple Watch includes separate support for animated emoji stickers, and iOS 11.1 adds the interactive Animoji feature.
