As of April 2025, most vendors still display this emoji as the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic (a horizontal triabnd of red, white, and black; charged with two green stars at the centre). 

This emoji shows the flag of Syrian National Coalition (a horizontal triband of green, white, and black, with three red five-pointed stars on the white band) on updated Apple devices and within WhatsApp, with other vendors expected to follow suit in the future.
