A pair of eyes, glancing slightly to the left on most platforms.&nbsp;The Google version of this emoji <a href="/google/android-4.4/eyes/" title="👀 Eyes on Google Android 4.4">previously</a>&nbsp;showed only a <a href="/eye/" title="👁 Eye">single eye</a>, despite the name of this character being eyes&nbsp;(plural).

Sometimes&nbsp;used to&nbsp;indicate &lsquo;pervy eyes&rsquo; to indicate approval of an attractive photo posted online; or&nbsp;&lsquo;shifty eyes&rsquo; to convey a deceitful act.

A single human eye, looking forward. This eye is in a different shape and style to the pair of <a href="/eyes/" title=" 👀 Eyes">eyes</a>, which are more rounded, and looking to one side.

A single human&nbsp;ear. May&nbsp;be used in the context of listening, or hearing something.

A human nose. May be used to indicate&nbsp;smelling, or something that smells.

Facebook&#39;s design shows this emoji&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="/heavy-dollar-sign/">dollar sign</a>&nbsp;eyes over a gray <a href="/coin">coin </a>shape, while&nbsp;Huawei&#39;s emoji design has <a href="/yen-banknote">yen-shaped</a> eyes instead of&nbsp;<a href="/heavy-dollar-sign/">dollar signs</a>.

Used for a wide range of content dealing with money, including making money, loving wealth, being or feeling rich, and concepts of success and excellence (e.g.,&nbsp;on the&nbsp;money).

Money-Mouth Face

The mark left after a firm kiss is placed with bright lipstick. Used in place of &lsquo;xxx&rsquo; (kisses), or to send a kiss to someone. More seductive than the <a href="/kiss/" title="💏 Kiss">kiss</a>&nbsp;emoji.

Kiss Mark

A yellow face with simple, open eyes and no mouth, as if at a loss for words. Meaning widely varies, but commonly conveys speechlessness, humility, and silence.&nbsp;May also convey moderately negative emotions, such as disappointment, frustration, or sadness.&nbsp;

Samsung&rsquo;s design <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/face-without-mouth/">previously featured</a> raised eyebrows and blushing cheeks.

Face Without Mouth

The speak no evil monkey, called Iwazaru (Japanese for &ldquo;say not&rdquo;), one of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_wise_monkeys">Three Wise Monkeys</a>. Depicted as the brown <a href="/monkey-face/">🐵 Monkey Face</a> with hands covering its mouth.

The Three Wise Monkeys represent the proverb see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, frequently interpreted as&nbsp;a call for discretion or willful ignorance.

Often used as a playful way to convey I can&rsquo;t believe what I just said!, express a mischievous Oops!, or communicate a secret-keeping I won&rsquo;t say a word. May be used to similar effect as <a href="/face-with-hand-over-mouth/">🤭 Face With Hand Over Mouth</a> or <a href="/zipper-mouth-face/">🤐 Zipper Mouth</a>.

Zipper-Mouth Face

A vampire shown wearing a dark cape, and with pointed fangs. This emoji supports skin tones, and variations that are <a href="/woman-vampire/">female</a> or <a href="/man-vampire/">male</a>.

May be used to call someone an &quot;energy vampire&quot;, i.e. a person whose actions leave others exhausted or drained of energy

A yellow face winking with puckered lips blowing a kiss, depicted&nbsp;as a small, <a href="/red-heart/">red heart</a>. May represent&nbsp;a kiss goodbye or good night and convey feelings of love and affection more generally.&nbsp;

The final original emoji set from NTT Docomo. Initially installed&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/service/docomo_mail/appli/deco/pictograph/index.html">on carrier handsets running&nbsp;Android 4.3 and 4.4</a>&nbsp;and later discontinued&nbsp;and replaced with <a href="/google/">standard Google emoji designs</a> on&nbsp;phones from NTT Docomo in Japan.

2013

The first emoji set from Japanese carrier Docomo (styled NTT DoCoMo in 1999). One of the most successful early emoji sets due to its use on multiple devices. Designed by Japanese interface designer <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigetaka_Kurita">Shigetaka Kurita</a>, these minimalistic graphics were used on multiple devices, and evolved to <a href="/docomo/2013/">a vector graphic implementaiton in 2013</a>.

Commonly cited as the first emoji set, it is more accurate to deem this one of the first emoji sets. An emoji implementation from competing Japanese carrier <a href="/softbank/1997/">Softbank predated this set with a 1997 emoji release</a>.

Note: Each&nbsp;emoji has been mapped to its modern Unicode codepoint, despite this set existing prior to Unicode emoji standardization.
