Automobile

This car shows in red or blue on most platforms. It was <a href="/google/android-11.0/oncoming-automobile/">previously</a> silver on Android.

Oncoming Automobile

A racing car that appears as a Formula One vehicle or&nbsp;rally car on most platforms. Generally displayed&nbsp;in&nbsp;red.

Apple&#39;s version of this emoji features the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swift_(programming_language)">Swift (programming language) logo</a> on the side.

In April 2024, WhatsApp updated its design for this emoji as part of a partnership between the messaging platform and the <a href="https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/04/30/whatsapp-debuts-mercedes-f1-race-car-emoji">Mercedes-Benz F1</a> team.

Racing Car

A motorcycle, otherwise known as a motorbike used for sport/racing purposes. For a transport-based motorcycle, use a <a title="🛵 Motor Scooter" href="/motor-scooter/">motor scooter.</a>

Racing Motorcycle

A red, triangular&nbsp;flag shown sitting&nbsp;in the <a href="/hole/" title="🕳 Hole">hole</a> of a golf course green. Some versions of this emoji also include golf balls, with an <a href="/apple/ios-4.0/flag-in-hole/">early iOS design</a> simply depicting a single golf ball.

Android <a href="/google/android-4.4/flag-in-hole/" title="⛳ Flag in Hole on Google Android 4.4">previously displayed this emoji</a> as the head of a&nbsp;putter (golf club) hitting a golf ball, while <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/triangular-flag/">Microsoft</a> used to show a single <a href="/triangular-flag/">triangular flag</a>.

Flag in Hole

A triangular red flag on a post.&nbsp;Most commonly associated with <a href="/person-golfing/" title="🏌 Golfer">golf</a>, as shown&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<a href="/flag-in-hole/" title="⛳ Flag In Hole">flag in hole emoji</a>. Can also be used to represent the term red flag, signaling&nbsp;a problem or issue.

Triangular Flag on Post

Two <a href="/flag-japan/" title="🇯🇵 Flag for Japan">Japanese Flags</a>, crossed at the base. Except on some older Samsung devices, which have <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-6.0/crossed-flags/">previously displayed</a>&nbsp;two <a href="/flag-south-korea/" title="🇰🇷 Flag for South Korea">South Korean flags</a>, and on recent&nbsp;Huawei devices, where both flags are <a href="/white-flag">plain white</a>.

Crossed Flags

A white flag, most often shown waving on a post. Traditionally used as a sign of surrender, the meaning of this flag as an emoji is less defined.

Waving White Flag

A flag with six colors of the rainbow, generally including red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Commonly used by the LGBT movement as a gay pride flag, or simply&nbsp;pride flag and seen at <a href="/pride/">Pride events</a>.

In February 2019 misinformation was spread about a <a href="https://www.fastcompany.com/90309797/no-theres-not-a-new-anti-lgbt-emoji">so-called</a> &quot;anti-lgbt emoji&quot; which can be created using a combining character to show a black and white glyph like&nbsp;🚫 <a href="https://twitter.com/Emojipedia/status/1097962057071095809">on top of the rainbow flag</a>. This is <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/fun-emoji-hacks/">possible with any emoji</a> on supported platforms, in the same way keycaps are combining characters.
