๐Ÿ‘น Ogre

A hideous creature with crooked teeth, horns and lots of hair. Called Namahage in Japanese folklore, this Ogre is usually depicted with a coat made of straw and a scary mask.

Tradition has it that men dress as namahage on New Year’s Eve to ward off evil spirits from people’s homes.

Ogre was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 under the name โ€œJapanese Ogreโ€ and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
