Commonly used for various content concerning jewelry, as upon an engagement or <a href="/nl/wedding-marriage/">marriage</a>. May also convey various literal and figurative senses of beauty, wealth, sophistication, preciousness, and sparkling.

Edelsteen

A closed, blue, hardcover book. Commonly used for various content concerning reading, writing, learning, and schooling. May also be used as a blue accent color.

Apple&rsquo;s cover features the easter egg Vol. 3 by <a href="https://www.mactrast.com/2017/05/who-exactly-is-john-appleseed/" style="font-style: italic;">John Appleseed</a>.&nbsp;Samsung&rsquo;s design&nbsp;<a href="/nl/samsung/experience-9.0/blauw-boek/">previously</a>&nbsp;included the text&nbsp;Blue Book.

Blauw Boek

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazar_(amulet)#Amulet">nazar</a>, an eye-shaped amulet believed to protect against the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye">evil eye</a>, especially in Turkish culture. Depicted as a rich blue, circular bead with a black dot in the center ringed with white and light blue, resembling an <a href="/nl/oog/">eye</a>.

Commonly used to represent eyes, various senses of looking, various senses of&nbsp;charms, envy and jealousy, and&nbsp;<a href="/nl/vlag-turkije/">Turkey</a> and Turkish culture. Also used for its blue color more generally.

WhatsApp, Facebook, and Huawei&#39;s designs include a small hole, as for threading the amulet on a string or chain.

Nazar-Amulet

Used in a similar manner to a regular * asterisk&nbsp;character but tends to be shown in a similar vertical alignment to a &bull;&nbsp;bullet point.&nbsp;The eight spoked asterisk&nbsp;has both a ✳︎&nbsp;text and ✳️&nbsp;emoji presentation available on most&nbsp;platforms.

South Korean financial technology company Toss (토스) provides its own emoji design set within its mobile application. The design set, entitled Toss Face (토스페이스), has also been made available as a free font file for Apple devices.

First launched in early 2022, the Toss Face emoji set originally included a series of intentionally divergent emoji designs compared to those of other vendors.

The majority of these divergent designs followed two broad themes. Firstly,&nbsp;rendering culturally-specific Japanese emojis with designs representing related South Korean concepts (e.g. the <a href="/nl/sake/">🍶 Sake</a> emoji appearing as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makgeolli">makgeolli</a>).

Secondly, emojis&nbsp;representing older technologies with designs representing more contemporary innovations. (e.g. <a href="/nl/pager/">📟 Pager</a> displaying as instant messaging speech bubbles; <a href="/nl/riksja/">🛺 Auto Rickshaw</a> being displyed as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unmanned_aerial_vehicle">drone</a>).

In March 2022 these divergent designs were updated to accurately reflect Unicode&#39;s recommendations. In April 2022 they were re-added to the Toss app using <a href="/nl/glossary/">Private Use Area</a> codepoints.&nbsp;

The update also re-introduced a series of&nbsp;Korean-oriented and future-oriented emoji designs to the Toss Face emoji set via <a href="/nl/glossary/#pua">Private User Area</a> characters.
