🔫 Pistol

A gun emoji that displays right-to-left on all platforms. Originally intended and displayed as a weapon, this now appears as a toy water pistol / squirt gun on the majority of major platforms.

Microsoft initially displayed this as a toy ray gun in place of a weapon, and has previewed a new design coming to Windows in a future update. Google once showed this emoji as a blunderbuss. A new design is coming to Android as part of Android P.

Deprecated emoji sets from Messenger, LG, HTC and Mozilla still show a gun as these are no longer in active development.

Pistol was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
