Tropical Fish

A blowfish (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetraodontidae">puffer</a>), which puffs up and becomes spiky when alarmed. Depicted as an orange or brown blowfish in full profile facing left, with small fins, a white underside, and a round, spiky body, as if inflated.

Called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugu">fugu</a> in Japan, where it&rsquo;s consumed as a delicacy.

A shark, a large, stealthy fish with many teeth. Not to be confused with the&nbsp;<a href="/shrimp/">Shrimp</a>.

Fried Shrimp

Quack! A duck, a waterbird with webbed feet. Depicted as a male (drake) <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mallard">mallard</a> in full profile facing left, standing on its legs with gray and brown feathers, a yellow bill, and its distinctive green head.

Duck

A pole spiraled with red, white, and blue stripes, as spins out front of a <a href="/person-getting-haircut/">barbershop</a>. Commonly used for various content concerning haircutting and hairstyling.

May also be associated with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barber's_pole#Use_in_prostitution">brothels</a> in parts of Asia.

Barber Pole

A whale, the massive marine mammal. Generally depicted as a light-blue whale in full profile facing left, with its tail curving down towards is huge mouth. Shown with a white, textured underside, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humpback_whale">humpback</a> or&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_whale">blue whale</a>.

Whale

A dolphin, a sleek marine mammal known to be social and intelligent. Generally depicted as a light-blue dolphin with a white belly in full profile facing left, its short snout curving down to a prominent dorsal fin and tail, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottlenose_dolphin">bottlenose</a> dolphin leaping in the air.

SoftBank&nbsp;<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&amp;tl=en&amp;js=y&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.softbank.jp%2Fmobile%2Finfo%2Fpersonal%2Fsoftware%2F20170120-02%2F&amp;edit-text=">announced</a> it would switch to using Google emoji designs from 2016, for&nbsp;phones supporting <a href="/google/android-7.0/">Android 7.0</a> or above. A minor update to this set removed regional indicators in 2016, but otherwise delivered no new changes.
