The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Tower">Tokyo Tower</a> is the second-tallest building in Japan, located in&nbsp;Minato, Tokyo.

Built in 1957, the design of the Tokyo Tower &nbsp;was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, <a href="/flag-france/" title="🇫🇷 Flag For France">France</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;may be confused for it due to the small size of the emoji. A previous Samsung design also added to this confusion as it was colored grey instead of red and white.

Tokyo Tower

Shows a map of the country of Japan, which is the only country to have its own emoji map. Other countries can be found on the <a href="/globe-showing-americas/" title="🌎 Earth Globe Americas">various globe emojis</a>, or the <a href="/world-map/" title="🗺 World Map">world map emoji</a>.

Its official Unicode name of Moyai&nbsp;and inclusion in early Japanese emoji sets, such as from au by KDDI, suggest&nbsp;the emoji may represent the <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Attraction_Review-g1066456-d1953259-Reviews-Moyai_Statue-Shibuya_Tokyo_Tokyo_Prefecture_Kanto.html">Moyai Statue</a> near Shibuya Station in Tokyo, Japan; previous designs from <a href="/google/android-4.3/moai/">Google</a> and <a href="/microsoft/windows-8.0/moai/">Microsoft</a>&nbsp;resemble the Tokyo statue. Other Tokyo landmarks are represented in&nbsp;<a href="/tokyo-tower/">🗼&nbsp;Tokyo Tower</a> and, formerly, <a href="/shibuya/">Shibuya 109</a>.
