Heavy Exclamation Mark Symbol

A decorative&nbsp;<a href="/exclamation-mark/" title=" ❗ Heavy Exclamation Mark Symbol">exclamation mark</a>, where a heart forms the top part of the symbol, and a circle the lower part. Similar to the way to the <a href="/person-in-suit-levitating/" title=" 🕴 Man in Business Suit Levitating">man in business suit levitating</a>&nbsp;also creates a similar shape.

This character was originally <a href="https://www.babelstone.co.uk/Blog/2013/10/whats-new-in-unicode-70.html">introduced</a> into the Webdings font as an &ldquo;exclamation mark in the style of the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rude_boy" title="Wikipedia : Rude boy">rude boy</a> logo found on records by&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Specials" title="Wikipedia : The Specials">The Specials</a>&quot;.&nbsp;This&nbsp;levitating&nbsp;man was known as Walt Jabsco.

Man in Business Suit Levitating

A snake, a slithering reptile without limbs. Generally depicted as a yellowish-green snake facing left, with a long, coiled body and flicking a red, forked tongue.

May be used for various metaphorical senses of snake.

One of the 12 animals of the <a href="/chinese-new-year/">Chinese zodiac</a>. May also be used in association with&nbsp;<a href="/ophiuchus/">⛎ Ophiuchus</a>, the Serpent-Bearer, sometimes considered a 13th sign of the Western zodiac.

Samsung&rsquo;s snake was <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/snake/">previously</a> facing forward.

A call bell, as pressed at a front&nbsp;desk or reception&nbsp;to alert staff for service, such as from a <a href="/person-tipping-hand/">concierge</a> or bellhop (porter) to carry <a href="/luggage/">luggage</a> at a <a href="/hotel/">hotel</a>. Generally depicted as a golden <a href="/bell/">bell</a> on a wooden stand.

Commonly represents alerts or notifications to bring attention to important content. May also be used of various content concerning the hospitality and service industries.

Microsoft&rsquo;s design <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-anniversary-update/bellhop-bell/">previously</a>&nbsp;featured&nbsp;a silver bell radiating yellow rays, as if ringing.

Bellhop Bell

A package (parcel), as contains items ordered online. Depicted at various angles as a light-brown, cardboard box, with a shipping label and its top taped shut.

Commonly used for content concerning shipping, delivery, and moving as well as for boxes more generally.

Apple&rsquo;s design features an image of a <a href="/wine-glass/">wine glass</a>, indicating fragile contents, and &ldquo;this way up&rdquo; orientation arrows. It was&nbsp;<a href="/apple/ios-5.1/package/">briefly</a>&nbsp;identical to its <a href="/wrapped-gift/">🎁 Wrapped Gift</a>.

Package

A lit, filtered cigarette, shown burning at different&nbsp;directions. Commonly used to represent various&nbsp;forms of smoking (e.g., tobacco, marijuana, vaping) as well as metaphorical senses of smoking.

Originally intended as a sign for a designated smoking area, as contrasted to <a href="/no-smoking/">🚭&nbsp;No Smoking Symbol</a>. This is&nbsp;illustrated in Samsung&rsquo;s <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/cigarette/">previous design</a> of a stylized, white cigarette on a blue background.

The SoftBank emoji designs&nbsp;heavily influenced&nbsp;<a href="/apple/iphone-os-2.2/">Apple&#39;s original emoji font</a>&nbsp;which was&nbsp;<a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/apples-emoji-evolution-1997-2018/">designed to be compatible with this set</a>&nbsp;when launching in Japan, due&nbsp;to iPhone being a SoftBank-exclusive phone when first released.

SoftBank&nbsp;<a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&amp;tl=en&amp;js=y&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.softbank.jp%2Fmobile%2Finfo%2Fpersonal%2Fsoftware%2F20170120-02%2F&amp;edit-text=">announced</a> it would switch to using Google emoji designs from 2016, for&nbsp;phones supporting <a href="/google/android-7.0/">Android 7.0</a> or above. SoftBank no longer releases&nbsp;updates to this emoji set.

The last update to SoftBank&#39;s emoji set was released in 2014 and discontinued in 2016. This release added 277 new characters

A minor update to this set removed regional indicators in 2016, but otherwise delivered no new changes.

An update to the SoftBank emoji set&nbsp;<a href="https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&amp;tl=en&amp;js=y&amp;prev=_t&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.softbank.jp%2Fcorp%2Fgroup%2Fsbm%2Fnews%2Fpress%2F2008%2F20080603_03%2F&amp;edit-text=&amp;act=url">released at the end of&nbsp;June 2008</a>, sometimes referred to as&nbsp;SoftBank 3G.

This version added more detail to each character and was the first SoftBank release to show the majority of smileys as round characters rather than square edge-to-edge designs.

Updated in 2006, this version of Softbank&#39;s emoji set is largely the same as the prior release, but with additional detail or shading on a number of emoji designs. Used throughout 2006&mdash;2007.

An increased resolution and a number of design changes. This was the first release to switch the <a href="/person-tipping-hand/">💁&nbsp;Person Tipping Hand</a> (nee Information Desk Person) from a <a href="/softbank/2001/person-tipping-hand/">Man</a> to a <a href="/softbank/2004/person-tipping-hand/">Woman</a>, and many emojis were redesigned with additional detail.

Changes in this release include an increased pixel count for each emoji, resulting in more detail and smoother curves and gradients.

This set was commonly in use on SoftBank devices during 2001 and 2002, and records show it first existing as early as July 2000.

2001

Builds on the <a href="/softbank/1999/">original SoftBank emoji set</a>, with additional characters and&nbsp;design changes including many&nbsp;smileys switching from circular red faces to yellow faces which fill the entire square.

This release was first available in&nbsp;1999, but in comon&nbsp;use from&nbsp;early 2000.
