Camping

A tent, used for protection from wind and rain when camping.

Facebook&#39;s version of this emoji&nbsp;shows it at night time, under stars, as did previous designs from <a href="/apple/ios-9.1/tent/">Apple</a>, <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/tent/">Samsung</a>, and <a href="/twitter/twemoji-2.4/tent/">Twitter</a>. Microsoft&#39;s design does not feature stars, but it does include a&nbsp;<a href="/crescent-moon/">crescent moon</a>.

Tent

Foggy weather displayed as&nbsp;<a href="/fog/" title="🌫 Fog">fog</a> covering a bridge or cityscape, depending on the platform. For platforms that show a bridge, the red <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gate_Bridge">Golden Gate Bridge</a> is generally displayed.

Foggy

A sailboat, otherwise known as a sailing boat or yacht. &nbsp;Uses wind as the source of propulsion to move around a body of water.

The color of the sails in this emoji&nbsp;vary by platform, with vendors displaying blue sails, orange sails, or a mix of red, yellow, orange, blue or white.

Sailboat

Used&nbsp;either as a literal airplane, to represent an overseas vacation, or sometimes as a proxy for&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airplane_mode">airplane mode</a> on a <a href="/mobile-phone/" title="📱 Mobile Phone">phone</a> or tablet.

Use of this emoji <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/emoji-use-in-the-new-normal/">declined in April 2020</a>, potentially as a result of global air travel limitations.

Airplane

An analog, handheld timepiece used to measure elapsed time, as for athletic sprints.&nbsp;Appearance varies across platforms, but depicted with two or more control buttons on its top.

Stopwatch

Time&rsquo;s up! A timer set to count down and sound an alarm after a designated amount of time, as used in the kitchen. Appearance varies by platform. Commonly used for various content concerning time, including countdowns and deadlines.

Apple, WhatsApp, and Facebook&rsquo;s designs resemble kitchen timers. Other designs may be confused with <a href="/mantelpiece-clock/">🕰️&nbsp;Mantelpiece Clock</a> or other clock emojis.

Timer Clock

A style of boot commonly worn on long walks or for hiking. Generally distinct from other footwear-related emojis by the considerable grip on the sole of the shoe.

Hiking Boot

An everyday flashlight (electric torch), as used when the power goes out,&nbsp;<a href="/camping/">camping</a>, or telling scary stories. Generally depicted at a 45&deg; angle as a gray and black device with a switch, shown illuminated on many platforms.

Used for various content concerning and senses of&nbsp;light and lighting (e.g., spotlight).

Google&rsquo;s flashlight was <a href="/google/android-11.0/flashlight/">previously</a>&nbsp;orange.

Electric Torch

A horseshoe magnet, as used to pick up&nbsp;iron.&nbsp;Depicted at various angles in red with silver-tipped poles.

Commonly used for various content concerning literal and figurative magnetism and attraction. May also be used in various science-related contexts more generally.

Twitter&rsquo;s design features two <a href="/high-voltage/">electric bolts</a> coming from its poles. WhatsApp&rsquo;s horseshoe is half blue, denoting an opposite magnetic pole.

Magnet

The flag for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_African_Republic">Central African Republic</a>, which may show as the letters&nbsp;CF&nbsp;on some platforms.
